There is a huge difference. Everything from the fluence to the low ripple effect at the high levels on this machine are different. The rise times are the same but the fluence and power level are lower on the older model.

The manufacturer in arizona that infuses Pemf mats for people (he personally has the 8000 model). He normally infuses other things in his chamber but this is something he does on the side for me. (I have free sample infusions I can mail to someone. If you stick it on the pemf mat or whatever you are using, the pemf machine instantly changes to a ZP device. If you put a lemon on the mat, it will lose its sourness. If you put wine on the mat, it will taste nothing like the original wine. The best example is the salt test. The salt will lose nearly all of its salty taste. Like I could eat a teaspoon with no problem. Not to get off tangent of pemf machines but if you put a pizza on the mat with the infusions on it, the pizza that you didn't "charge up" will taste like card board if you eat them side by side.

The 8000 is super quiet and this brand has the least clicking noise decibel level for the power it has. This Epulse 8000e has a very high fluence. I am talking super high. Even though its not a solid state machine, at the low levels it delivers enough energy even at a comfortable level to still give people the therapy they want. It might take a little longer but the Epulse 8000e is the most gentle feel of all the Pemf models I tested in this power range. The Epulse 8000e also has a high power on the highest level. It costs a lot less than the new solid state ones but if someone is not turning the machine all the way up then this is a machine that most people are happy with.

This is the most popular Pemf machine among chiropractors as it has been out the longest before the solid state Pemf machines that are out now. I've went to a chiropractor that puts people on the mat right before they get adjusted.
